Today, I ask you to do some journaling. Think about these questions. Answer it. Then say the prayer below.
What would you change if you KNEW Jesus was coming back tomorrow?
Are you willing to make the change?
Will you be ready?
Take a moment and pray this prayer:
"Holy Spirit, come into my life again and point out any area where Jesus is not being honored. If there is some kind of behavior that I need to let go of Lord, I choose to let go of that. If you are calling for me to take steps for that to happen, I will take those steps and get the help I need. If I need to release bitterness Lord, would you point that out? I want to be willing to pass along forgiveness.
Lord, do you want me to be more bold with people around me about who you are, and to be a better witness?
Lord, is there something you want to do with my life that you are calling me to do, that I need to trust you in a bigger way?
Jesus, what I am saying right now is that whatever you call me to do, that I want to say "yes." I want to say "yes" to YOU. Because, I want to be ready.
Thank you that you keep all of your promises. Thank you that you provide me a way to have an amazing reunion with you. And, to be able to say "I can't wait. I can't wait for that to happen."
Lord, come, have you in our lives, I want to be surrendered to you. Amen"
I also encourage you to watch this service. It really made me think. We have a purpose, we need to work to fulfill it. I always say "how would you be acting if Jesus was standing next to you?' Be that person. Think of the great world we would have.
If you would like a copy of any of the devotionals or books I reference, please send me an email (button below) and I would be happy to send you one. Please reference the title of the post/devotional to ensure I send you the correct devotional/author. See my mission in the "About Kelly" link.
"Are you ready?" is a pertinent question. As believers, we ought to live with the anticipation of Jesus' return, as it enables us to concentrate on Him and develop a closer relationship with Him. By living with the expectation of Jesus' return, we are motivated to lead a righteous life, which is a fulfilling way of life. This helps us to improve ourselves and live in a manner that is pleasing to Him.
