As I dive into the new year, Elizabeth Gilbert's quote, "The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all and then stands back to see if we can find them," has me seriously reflecting on where I am at in life and where others around me find themselves as well.
The New Year always brings about a season of change, inspiring us to reflect on past accomplishments and question where we are headed.
But let's be real - how many of us start the year with grand resolutions and goals, only to completely forget about them by the third week of January? It's a typical pattern that many of us can relate to.
Consistency is vital if we genuinely want to unearth the "strange jewels "inside of us and make fundamental changes to our paths.
For me, I've found that seeking God's will each morning helps me stay grounded and focused on finding that strange jewel He has planned for me. It gives me confidence in my decisions, sparks new inspirations and ideas, and fills me with a sense of purpose to seek the path He has laid out for me.
Without starting my day this way, things tend to spiral into chaos, and I struggle to stay on track with the commitments I set for myself.
Each of us has something incredible in store - a "strange jewel," if you will - and we need to work in harmony with the universe (for me, it's God) to uncover it. It's about finding our purpose and where we can make the most impact in serving Him and others.
So, as we move forward into 2024, let's all make an effort to search for that "strange jewel" within us. Let's do it with passion and a sense of inspiration from God to lead us to places we never even imagined possible.
