The Night That Changed Everything

How One Documentary Opened the Door to a Whole New Life

Two years ago, on June 27, 2023, I walked into a movie theater expecting to watch a film. I had no idea I was walking into a divine appointment—one that would completely change the course of my life.

That night, I attended the premiere of Sound of Freedom. I had no connection to the film industry. I wasn’t looking for a new career path. But something stirred in me during that screening—so deeply, so unshakably—that I knew I couldn’t just watch and walk away. I became an associate producer of the film, and with that simple yes, a door opened to a world I never imagined I’d be a part of.

Shortly after, I was invited to work on another documentary called Surpassing Sight, focused on tackling the heartbreaking 70% unemployment rate among the blind. The goal: reduce that number to just 7%. That project not only educated me—it inspired me to believe that massive, systemic change is possible when passionate people come together with a common purpose.

During that time, I met Lukas Behnken. Through our work on Surpassing Sight, he introduced me to another documentary in the works—this one focused on a treatment called the dual stellate ganglion block. It’s a medical procedure with profound impact for those suffering from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. The more I learned, the more compelled I felt.

That’s when the next chapter of my life began.

Not only did I become involved in the documentary, but I knew I had to help bring this treatment—and the awareness surrounding it—to more people. I felt especially called to bring it to Cleveland, where I knew far too many were silently struggling with mental health challenges and running out of hope.

That moment of discovery led to the birth of Reset Medical and Wellness Center—a place that exists to offer real hope and healing to those who feel stuck, broken, or forgotten.

This treatment didn't just impact the patients we now serve—it changed me. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose. It realigned my passions. It reminded me that there is always more we can do to help others when we follow where God leads.

Proverbs 16:9 says, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”

I thought I was just attending a movie premiere. But God was already orchestrating something much greater—something far beyond my own imagination.

Looking back, I see it so clearly: God redirected my steps that night. I thought I was going to a movie, but He was leading me into ministry, advocacy, and healing work that would ripple far beyond anything I could’ve imagined.

Documentaries matter. They educate, yes—but more than that, they awaken. They ignite compassion, challenge complacency, and move people to action. Every documentary I’ve had the honor of working on—Sound of Freedom, Surpassing Sight, and now Reset: The Science of Hope and Healing—has reminded me that powerful storytelling can literally change lives.

Mine included.

I’m forever grateful for that one night, two years ago. It started with a film. And it became a mission. Along the way, I’ve met some of the most inspiring people—those fighting for mental health, those championing the blind, those rescuing the vulnerable, and those simply choosing to be light in a dark world.

To everyone who’s been part of this journey: thank you. And to the God who orchestrated every step—I see You in every story, every open door, every soul that has found healing.

Let’s keep telling stories that matter. Let’s keep changing lives.
