Useless and Unprofitable.

Foolish. Disobedient. Deceived. Enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures.

Look around — this is the world we live in. A world filled with malice and envy, where people are hated and hate one another.

It's sad. It's overwhelming.

So how do we escape this trap? Through kindness and love.

We must choose to be kind to one another — and even more importantly, to love one another — especially in our differences.

Have mercy on one another. Devote yourself to doing good things. Avoid foolish controversies that, in the end, don't matter. Stay out of arguments and quarrels.

Be quick to forgive...and to forget.

Foolish controversies. Arguments. Quarrels. Hatred. Anger.

They're all useless and unprofitable.

If you viewed these things like you would an object or a bad business decision, wouldn't you cut your losses and move on? Think of the freedom you'd gain by no longer giving your time and energy to what is useless and unprofitable.

So, how do we become useful and profitable again?

It comes back to the same two things: Kindness and Love.
