It had been many years of constantly getting up tired, out of energy, getting up each morning without the zest for life. The anticipation. The expectation. The excitement for what the day may bring.
I lived without expectation or anticipation. I was focused on the wrong things.
Today, I get up with the excitement and anticipation of what's to come. The excitement of what will be revealed to me through my time with God, during my time of walking/exercising and listening to positive audio or music. The time with friends in my small group, during my Transformation Tables groups, time with my family. I wake up with positive expectations in my day. I wake up knowing that God has a plan for my day GREATER than anything I could plan for myself.
Do you wake up with expectation? Anticipation? This week I read Chapter 14 in the book Discerning the Voice of God by Priscilla Shirer, along with The Law of Anticipation in John Maxwell's new book The 16 Undeniable Laws of Communication. (I would be happy to send you either or both of these books...they are awesome!)
The overall theme was about how I can't wait to experience the excitement of the day. What God will tell me and what I will experience throughout the day. Moreover, how I hope that I can create that sense of anticipation in others (as John Maxwell said).
Do you have the same anticipation/expectation in your life? Like a kid on Christmas morning? If not, find it. Dedicate yourself to finding time for yourself. Quiet time to figure out what gets you excited to jump out of bed and start your day! Adopt a growth mindset. If you want others around you to be excited, you have to be excited first!
