Start with the End

Over the past few years, I have been part of an AMP group with Dr. Benjamin Hardy. The one thing he has pounded in our heads was the importance of focusing on our top three things we want to accomplish each day, our "Big3." This also reminds me of the book by Michael Hyatt, "Free to Focus."

One of the main premises by both of these authors is do the top three things FIRST in your day, not waiting until the end of the day by getting all of the "little tasks" out of the way. In other words, "EAT THE FROG!" (Another great book)

Before I go to bed at night, I do my best to write out the top three things I MUST accomplish the next day. When I wake up with the "end in mind," I am so much more productive. This is Ben Hardy and Michael Hyatt's point. The more focused we are, the more accomplished we are.

When you know where you are going, you don't roam mindlessly through your day. Allowing yourself to be laser focused on your top three things, you will find that you are literally getting 10x more done than without any set priorities.

Tonight, start with the end in mind. Before you go to bed, write down the top three things YOU WANT to accomplish the next day. Then, the moment you sit down to work, you know what exactly you what to start with.

I have a question for you. When you look at this picture, is it a sunrise or sunset? When you get up in the morning are you beginning with the end in mind? Do you want to be enjoying the beautiful sunset knowing you got so much accomplished that was important TO YOU? If you don't control your day, others will and you will miss the beauty in the sunset.
